Stop renaming high-poly parts one by one. Match every high to its low in seconds.
Baking maps needs every high-poly piece to share its low-poly’s name: Test_01_low and Test_01_high. On assets with hundreds of parts, doing that by hand takes a lot of time.
HS – Bake Match Utility Renamer finds the right low-poly for every high-poly piece and renames them all for you, ready for Marmoset Toolbag, Substance Painter or any baker that matches by name.
Smart matching, not just bounding boxes
- Smart reading under the hood, so it can tell overlapping, nested and touching parts apart where simple bounding-box tools fail.
- Handles the tricky cases: pieces that poke slightly past their low-poly, sleeves and bands wrapped around a part, small details sitting on large parts, coaxial pins and caps, and low-poly blocks that only cover part of a high-poly piece.
- Built and tested on real production scenes with hundreds of parts.
- Every match shows a confidence score. Uncertain matches are left untouched and flagged, so nothing is renamed by guesswork.
Preview before you rename
- Review every proposed name in a results list, with mismatches highlighted.
- Double-click any row to select that object in the scene.
- See bounding boxes of the selected high and low objects right in the viewport.
- A progress bar shows the work on large scenes.
- Work on a selection, or the whole scene by layer.
Quick rename tools included
- Rename the selection to any name in one click.
- Add a prefix or suffix, or remove characters from the start or end of names.
- Find & replace any text in names, upper or lower case.
- Add numbered suffixes (
_01,_002…) with your own start, step, or remove them again. - Show or hide all your
_high/_lowlayers with one button.
Quick Disclaimer
Now don't expect every match to be perfect, there are situations where you will not get a match.
And that's because the Low will not match the high in terms of geometry like for example your high is a cylinder but your lp is a half cylinder because maybe you deleted half for optimization purposes.
So it's best to rename before you do your optimization.
I also explain this better in the video tutorial.
